for WS320 Wireless Wind Sensor

Note: If placing the WS320 into storage for more than 30 days, for example as part of a winter lay-up, the battery must be disconnected and removed from the sensor. Whenever the battery is disconnected, it is necessary to re-pair the WS320 to the base station, as described below:

Before pairing: (Remove all other Bluetooth from the area)

1. With power switched off, connect Bluetooth base station to NMEA 2000 network

2. Have the battery for the WS320 wind sensor ready for later installation

3. Wind sensor must be less than 0.5 m (1.6’) from the Bluetooth base station for pairing to succeed.

Ready to pair:

4. Insert and connect battery to wind sensor

5. Apply power to NMEA 2000 network within 30 seconds of connecting battery

6. Bluetooth base station and wind sensor will now attempt to pair. This can take up to three minutes to complete.

Successful pairing:

7. Using an MFD or instrument display, go to the Device List in the Network Settings dialog

8. Select the WS320 device to display the device information dialog

9. Select the Data Option to display information

10. Verify the apparent wind angle and speed are updating correctly.

The wind sensor is now ready to be installed at the top of the mast. Wind angle calibration can be done later from the Calibration option in the Network Settings dialog.
